Bowmore met également sur le marché des millésimes tels que le Bowmore 1968 43.4% ou le Bowmore Seadragon 30 YO edition 2006 43%. Les whiskies produit par Bowmore sont moyennement tourbés, mais le whisky distillé en 1968 fut produit avec du malt non ou légèrement tourbé. Le Bowmore le plus célèbre est sans doute le Black Bowmore. Le Black Bowmore est en whisky maturé en fût de sherry mis en bouteille en 1993 (2000 bouteilles, 29 ans), en 1994 (2000 b. , 30 ans) et en 1995 (1812 b., 31 ans). Vendu initialement pour environ £150, il se négocie désormais au minimum pour £1500 quand vous pouvez le trouver.

Histoire de Bowmore
La distillerie fut construite en 1779 par David Simson (ou Simpson) et mise en opération la même année. En 1816, la distillerie est enregistrée sous le nom de John Simpson. Entre 1825 et 1826 le propriétaire est John Johnston et John Simpson entre 1826 et 1837. En 1837, deux marchands de Glasgow William et James Mutter rachètent la distillerie. La distillerie reste entre ces mains jusqu’en 1890, date de la faillite de cette entreprise familiale. Par la suite la distillerie va changer de mains à plusieurs reprises et mise en vente en 1922. Pendant cette période, la seule information sur la propriétaire date de 892 avec le nom Joseph Robert Holmes de Bowmore Distillery Co figure dans les archives. La distillerie est acquise en Sheriff’s Bowmore Distillery Ltd, qui sera acquise par William Grigor and Sons Ltd d’ Inverness en 1950. La distillerie sera fermée pendant la guerre de 1939-45, période pendant laquelle le Coastal Command l’utilise comme base militaire. En 1963, Stanley P. Morrison Ltd achète la distillerie. En 1987, le nom de la société est changé en Morrison Bowmore Distillers. Depuis 1994, Morrison Bowmore est la propriété de Suntory Co., une entreprise japonaise.
Depuis le début du millénium, la compagnie a changée sa politique au niveau des fûts et n’utilise que des fûts de premier remplissage.
