En plus de la gamme standard, plusieurs éditions limitées ont été commercialisées dont Highland Park 1977 bicentenary 40%, Highland Park 1974 online tasting, Highland Park 1958 40YO 44% ainsi que plusieurs versions brut de fût telles que l’Ambassador Cask 1 and 2.
Highland Park est la distillerie la plus septentrionale d’Ecosse en activité. Une fois la distillerie de Blackwood aux Shetlands en activité, elle perdra son titre. De plus, Highland Park est une des rares distilleries a utilisé de l’eau calcaire.
Concernant l’histoire de la fondation de la distillerie, il y a deux versions :
1) La distillerie fut construite en 1798 par Magnus Eunson ou 2) La distillerie fut construite par David Robertson. Richard McKay fut le propriétaire entre 1825 et 1826. La license d'exploitation est acquise en 1825 En 1826, la distillerie est acquise par John Robertson et Robert Borwick. Robertson vend la distillerie en 1830 à Robert Borwick et famille. George Borwick, le fils de Robert, poursuivra son exploitation entre 1852 et 1860. En 1860, lorsque le révérend James Borwick en hérite, la distillerie est évaluée à £100. Pour des questions morales, James vend la distillerie à Mitchell et Eunson, qui revendront la distillerie en 1867 aux courtiers Stuart et Mackay pour £450. En 1868, la distillerie est acquise par William Stuart et les droits de propriété sont transférés en 1878 à la société William Stuart, Stuart et Grant. En 1895, la distillerie est acquise par James Grant de Glenlivet, qui revendra la distillerie à Highland Distillers en 1937 pour la somme de £185'000. Entre temps, en 1898, la capacité de la distillerie est doublé, avec l'augmentation du nombre d'alambiques de 2 à 4 La distillerie passe en main du groupe Edrington en novembre 1999, lorsqe Edrington acquiert le groupe Highland Distillers plc. En 2006, la production s’élève à 2.1 mio LPA (litres d’alcool pur) et l’objectif pour 2007 est de 2.3 moi LPA (capacité maximale de la distillerie).
