Ardbeg 1967 Old Malt Cask, 32 YO, Douglas Laing, 49%, B:2000, 276 bottles. Prix:
Colour: Old gold
Nose: Excellent. The old style of mineral peat smoke is immediately recognizable, on cold ashes, light maritime flavours, tangerine, some orange, camphor and light aromatic flavours. The peat smoke is amazingly complex and elegant.
Taste: Spicy, peppery, intense, maritime, smoky, on orange, orange peel, disinfectant, a touch of lemon, some tar, soot, iodine, seaweeds and old fashioned peat smoke. The finish is long, medicinal, slightly woody, with some dry sherry influence, on disinfectant, camphor, iodine, some orange, soot, eucalyptus, a touch of bitter orange and tangerine,
