Feis Ile 2005

Introduction:

The Outer Hebridies are a beautiful group of isles in the North-West coast of Scotland, with Islay and Isle of Jura being the most Southern ones.

When I discovered Islay and the isle of Jura under the rain in 2004, I decided to come and see them during the Feis Ile, the Festival of Malt and Music in May-June 2005 to experience and enjoy the pleasant illeach atmosphere.

Like for all the other trips I have done in the Scottish Isles, I took some precautions and started to book for the accomodations, transportations and for the tours and master classes at the beginning February 2005. For the feis ile, all the informations are available on www.feisile.com.

My report will follow the course of the event as organised by the feis isle committee and the Islay whisky distilleries.

There was so much to do in Islay during the Feis Isle, that unfortunately, I missed all the other non-malt related events and failed to participated to the Bunnahbhain open day!

I will be sure not to miss the Bunnahabhain open day and its very famous Ceilidh next year!

Slainte!
